How to be Less White Book Review

                                        How to be less White                            White Fragility Book Review  I used to love reading books, but in the last several years I have not read that much. So my goal for 2021 is to read one book a month. For the month of March the book I chose was White Fragility by Robin Diangelo that I bought at my local Target.     The reason I chose this was because It was on the New York's best sellers list and I wanted to see what people were consuming lately with the high race tensions in America. This book is geared towards White liberals. I am not a woke liberal in fact quite the opposite. So me going into reading this,  I am coming in with a critical mindset from the beginning.        I am coming with the perspective of a Conservative Christian.  The book had some good insights. Very few, but I am a learner and can learn from almost anything or any situation. I agree that there is Systemic Racism. I agree that it is embedded into society.

40 Day Daughter of the King Devotional Day 7

 40 Day Daughter Of The King Devotional

                                 Day 7
                Ride The Wave With God

The seas have lifted up, Lord,
    the seas have lifted up their voice;
    the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
    mightier than the breakers of the sea—
    the Lord on high is mighty.
Psalm 93 3-4

      Please read Psalm 93 so you can get the full picture of your King. It is a beautiful image of our king in his environment and his Strength.

The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty;
    the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;
    indeed, the world is established, firm and secure. Psalm 93:1

  Our King is robed with majesty and strength and so are we because we are his daughters. We get our strength from him. He is firm and secure. How comforting that we know we have a  father that is strong and secure.

The seas have lifted up, Lord,
    the seas have lifted up their voice;
    the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
    mightier than the breakers of the sea—
    the Lord on high is mighty.
     Psalm 93 3,4

 That brings us to the verses that we are focusing on, Psalm 93 3,4.  He is mightier then seas and the thunder of the great waters. It reminds me that no matter what natural disasters or man-made disasters happen God is still in control. When the world seems to be falling apart he is still sovereign and in control. He has the world in the palm of his hand. If things are falling apart in your personal life and things are not making sense he is Sovereign and in control. He works out all things for those that love him. It might not be overnight, it could take months even years for him to accomplish his plan.  Yet I trust him because he firm and secure. The storm might be raging but we will not fear the storm because he is King of the waters.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. Isaiah 43:2

   Psalm 93 is so beautiful and it ends with this verse.

Your statutes, Lord, stand firm;
    holiness adorns your house
    for endless days. Psalm 93:5

  The world may seem insecure and unsteady but God's statues will always stand firm and be everlasting. The waves will never be ever to crush his statutes.  Thinking of the image of his house adorned in holiness is delightful to think of. As I have just been doing a refresh on my own home and decorating it is splendid to know my father's home is decorated in Holiness. I picture extreme beauty and light.

      The end of days may be coming and that could be frightening but we have to remember he is Mighty! He is stronger than the enemy and spoiler alert, he wins! Let us ride the Wave with our King in these glistening waters!
