The Ghetto State of Mind

O' January I used to hate you and despised your coming
My heart missed and longed for July
Where I would walk upon the lake and feel
in complete Bliss
Yet I underestimated you O' January
I can still take my walks even with you
You surprised me with your sparkling beauty
Your White Winter Wonderland
Full of icicles and snowflakes
You remind me of God's promises
Though we have scarlet sins, you wash
them away as White as Snow
You are delightful O'January
I love your fresh crisp air and the hope
you bring
I love the hot cocoa and little dogs wearing
funny sweaters
You make me ponder of the new adventures
that await me this year
