The Ghetto State of Mind

The Ghetto State of Mind  The Ghetto state of mind is an intriguing concept. In my hometown this mind set is on an upscale. It has always been there but in the last 5 years its grown rampantly like wildfire. The ghetto state of mind comes in all colors and nationalities. You can identify it by how someone carries themselves and by their words and actions and how they treat others.   Let us explore this unaesthetic mind set.  This mind set is at one of the lowest mindsets. In this mindset the person always has to be right, always gets their way. Putting their needs first is always on their agenda. Some examples are screaming and honking at an elderly to cross the street as opposed to a more noble mindset of going out of your way to help an elderly person cross the street. This mindset is also displayed by not letting people merge on the highway knowing that now they will now have to exit. In some states not merging is against the law but it is just human decency tha

Christanese Understanding Christian Slang Words

                                     Christanese

                             Understanding Christian Slang Words

Christanese is words and phrases that Christians use often when together. I thought it would be fun to come up with a short list of my favorite Christaneese words.

1.  Backsliding is when a Christian stops living for Jesus and abandons the Christian lifestyle. This person goes back to the lifestyle before they were a Christian, clubbing, drinking, gossipying etc.. This could be a few months or years but when they return back to Jesus, they call that period that they were gone as "Backsliding".

2. Fruit is used in a sentence like, " I am not seeing any fruit in you."  Fruit is from the Fruits of the Spirit. In Galatians 5:22-23 Paul lists nine specific behaviors – love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control – that are the result of the work of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life. So if someone says they do not see fruit in you this is not a good sign. When someone gives their life to Christ, true conversion comes with these special gifts and it is a way the Christians can spot the fake christians and teachers. You will know them not by their words, but by their "fruit'.

3. Creaster is a term for people who  only go to church on Easter and Christmas.

4. Brother in Christ is what a Christian girl calls a guy that she just "friend zoned"..  j.k. Your Christians friend's become like a family and you will call your friends terms like brother in Christ or Sister in Christ.

5.Saved is when someone has recieved Jesus as their personal savior  and lives for him now.

6. Enemy is a term used for Satan.

7.Testimony is sharing with people their personal story of how they came to follow Jesus. I have been in a setting where everyone took turns sharing their testimony.

8. Baby Christian is a term for a new Christian still learning about their new faith. They are still drinking milk and not mature enought to understand more complex scriptures from the Bible.

9. Hedge of Protection is a term Christians use often when praying. They pray for a hedge of protection around them when traveling or really any situation to keep them safe.

10. Ask Jesus in your heart is often used in a prayer to recieve Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9) . Here is a Prayer.

"God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."
