The Ghetto State of Mind

The Ghetto State of Mind  The Ghetto state of mind is an intriguing concept. In my hometown this mind set is on an upscale. It has always been there but in the last 5 years its grown rampantly like wildfire. The ghetto state of mind comes in all colors and nationalities. You can identify it by how someone carries themselves and by their words and actions and how they treat others.   Let us explore this unaesthetic mind set.  This mind set is at one of the lowest mindsets. In this mindset the person always has to be right, always gets their way. Putting their needs first is always on their agenda. Some examples are screaming and honking at an elderly to cross the street as opposed to a more noble mindset of going out of your way to help an elderly person cross the street. This mindset is also displayed by not letting people merge on the highway knowing that now they will now have to exit. In some states not merging is against the law but it is just human decency tha

Are Anti-Hate yard signs sending hate messages?

Are Anti-hate signs sending hate messages?

I have a job that I deliver packages to people's homes. In the past I have seen yard signs that say, "Hate has no home here". Recently I saw a yard sign with a similar message and instead of conveying love to me I felt attacked by hate from the sign. I wanted to figure out why I felt hate coming from this sign.

This sign got me thinking and also the sign that says, Hate has no home here".  So in that home that has the sign, no one in there is hating on Trump? Those people love everything and hate nothing?

I feel like the word "hate" got hijacked and now the new definition of the word hate is this, hate- anyone that has an opposing view or belief from you is considered hate talk. I feel attacked by these signs because I am a Christian and my views line up with the bible. I am not against everything in this sign like Black lives matter. Of course they matter and I believe they are being harmed by the police out of discrimination. Love is Love is for believing in same sex marriage. So if I believe that is wrong and if my God tells me that is wrong, I am now a hater. I would never hate a person in the first place. I do not approve of certain behaviors that the bible condones, like Violence, same sex marriage, Greed, Oppressing poor people, adultery and murder, but I don't "hate" people. So if I disagree with someone on these behaviors I am now a hater?  There is no so called "tolerance" to my religious beliefs?

That is where this sign bothers me, what is the next step after calling my views hateful? Put me in jail? Taking away people's freedom of speech because now it is considered hateful? Feed us to the lions like they did in the coliseum? Or maybe have the thought police arrest us. Where does religious freedom come in all this? Where does Tolerance of people with different religious beliefs come in to this? Christians are the most perscuted people in the world. Our churches are getting shot up every week it seems like. I figured out why I felt the message of hatred coming from those signs, I didn't know what was next, some kind of persecution on me for believing in the bible. Will I be persecuted like others that are killed and put in prison for their faith? Here is a news story about persecuted Christians from the BBC from 6 days ago.https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-48146305 titled,

Christian persecution 'at near genocide levels'

It kind of reminds me of the book "1984" where they used the word "doublespeak". It's a word the government would use for propaganda but would actually mean the opposite. That is what I think happened to the word "Love".  I recommend the book 1984 by George Orwell for anyone that has not read it. I believe it is wrong to hate people but I believe there is a time to hate certain things like, rape, violence, injustice, theft, abuse etc...  In the bible in Ecclesiastes it says there is a time to love and a time to hate. I hate evil things. So what does it mean when you say there is no hate here? No hating trump, no hating pollution etc? Believe it or not it is ok to hate something! To me hate is not the dirty word but Evil is and if you are a Christian know that God hates things. Proverbs 6:16-19   16  There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
17  haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
18  a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that make haste to run to evil,
19  a false witness who breathes out lies,
and one who sows discord among brothers.

I feel like the yard signs are a psychological tactic of Hijacking the word "hate" to send the message that if anyone disagrees is hateful.People have different lists of what they consider wrong or right. I get my list from the holy bible. Consider where you get your moral list from? Media, friends, social norms, Oprah? Just something to consider because people are disagreeing on what is wrong vs. right and we need to examine were these core beliefs are coming from.

Isaiah 5:20 King James Version (KJV)

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

I am not writing this to battle of who's morals are right and wrong, but to challenge you that everyone hates something and it is impossible to love everything and just because someone disagrees with you, they shouldn't be labeled as a hater. Kindness is last on this list, let us put this first on the list.  Let us agree to disagree and have have the freedom to an individual with our own thoughts and beliefs but let us all be kind to one another despite any differenes and let us not exclude those with different religious beliefs. Christians, that mean's loving people that are prochoice and being kind to people with different political views. You don't have to accept someone's beliefs to show love to them.  I challange everyone including myself to truely love our neighbors as ourselves even if they disagree with every fiber of your being and get on your nerves! This is the only way to truely love. If we only love others that are just like ourselves that is easy and effortless. It is hardwork to love our enemies. This is also hard because people seem hardwired to be on a team of us against them mentality.  Want to break down a Wall? Break down the wall of hate. Let us love the ones that are completly opposite of ourselves and this starts with myself. That is how to spread the true message of love.

All these signs about what each house will do and will not do.  As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

                          Love One Another
