One Flesh
Last weekend I saw the "best movie" of the year according to the Oscar awards. It was the most bizarre movie I have ever seen in my 42 years of living on this earth! I didn't think it was bad just because it was weird, because I do like weird things at times. There were times, were I was not engaged and bored,to other times like, what the???
I didn't know even what genre I would classify this movie. SciFi didn't even seem right to me. Spoiler alert....My aunt called it Aqua sex! Which reminds me that I was shocked about that part. Yes Aqua Sex. Oh boy. I didn't exactly know what I was getting into when I agreed to watch this movie with a group of friends.
I went to work the following day and told my coworker about the bizarre movie I had watched. She asked me if the fish and the lady have sex, and I say yes. She said that is bestiality and couldn't believe it was the movie of the year. I also heard someone mention that it could be a symbol of the Nephilim returning and how they had relations with women.
I saw a interview by the man that wrote and directed the movie, and he said his inspiration was the mixing of the Catholic church with pagan religions. How they merged together and became one. I thought that was such a weird connection but then I got it. The aquatic man and then woman became one flesh. The Catholic religion and the pagan religions became one. Most of our current holidays are made up of this mixture.
Which got me really thinking. People in my close circles are appalled by this unholy union. Although I know in other circles they think it is cute and fascinating, and all the people that voted it as the best movie of the year! If you are disgusted by people and fish becoming one flesh, then what about the other ways people are becoming one flesh with world and the culture we live in? That is a unholy union as well. Anyone we become one flesh with that is not our spouse or of God is a unholy union. So hooking up with someone that is not your spouse brings all kind of nasty soul ties that could take a lifetime of consequence. God forgives us but we still have to deal with the consequences. So let's not just be concerned by people having sex with creatures but let us also be concerned with what we are becoming one with ourselves. Is it the world and its pleasures and desires? That's just what Satan wants, to have us be one with him. By the music we listen to and by the popular culture and standards of this world. Not that is wrong to listen to worldly music, just let it not be all we listen to all the time. Let us be a little more selective to what we are listening to and watching so it doesn't consume us. Who are you "one" with? Lets not become one flesh with this world and let us reunite with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Blessings!
