The Ghetto State of Mind

Image
The Ghetto State of Mind  The Ghetto state of mind is an intriguing concept. In my hometown this mind set is on an upscale. It has always been there but in the last 5 years its grown rampantly like wildfire. The ghetto state of mind comes in all colors and nationalities. You can identify it by how someone carries themselves and by their words and actions and how they treat others.   Let us explore this unaesthetic mind set.  This mind set is at one of the lowest mindsets. In this mindset the person always has to be right, always gets their way. Putting their needs first is always on their agenda. Some examples are screaming and honking at an elderly to cross the street as opposed to a more noble mindset of going out of your way to help an elderly person cross the street. This mindset is also displayed by not letting people merge on the highway knowing that now they will now have to exit. In some states not merging is against the law but it is just human decency tha

Only God can Judge me.

Only God Can Judge Me                                                                                                  I remember when this saying was popular. I really didn't put to much thought in the statement. TuPac had a song titled "Only God can judge me", that popped into my mind when I was thinking about this topic. I listened to it again to remember the lyrics. I don't agree with all the lyrics but very nice beats!                                                                                       Anyways I was just thinking how people can be on two extreme spectrums of this statement, "Only God can Judge me". One view is that I can do drugs and rob, live like the devil and only God can judge me. That's not the real world, people out there are constantly judging. If I do a crime tomorrow a Judge and Jury will soon be judging me.  I will get judged on my job review for the year. Yes at on

Slaves to Sin

Slaves to Sin                                                                          I love allegories and metaphors. I am a visual thinker so images really help me understand things. I recently met someone who has diabetes and had an organ transplant. Things were going very well with the transplant but there came a time where he was under a lot of stress and stopped taking the medicine that helped support his transplant. As a result the organ was rejected. It was his pancreas. He regrets not taking his medicine now.  Back to this story in a moment.     I am reading Romans in the bible and trying to understand the concept of Sin. How even I still sin and get caught up with things of the flesh and I am a Born Again Believer and how in Romans 6:6 It says, For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin, because anyone who has dies has been freed from sin.
